Cinemas around St. Nicholas at Wade

Carlton Cinema

29 St Mildred's Rd, Westgate-on-Sea CT8 8RE, UK – 01843 834290

We love this place, to watch the latest films in such an environment is a treat. I am not sure how they do it by charging such low prices, even the popcorn is relatively cheap and very tasty. They have a range of screens, the largest one is bigger than most chain cinemas and the smallest is like a large living room. All the seating is new as part of a recent renovation, providing a lot of leg room and a comfortable place to spend a few hours. The sound quality is good, not the sharpest but sufficient for the big bangs and moody music you get with the marvel movies, and precise enough for the more conversation based movies. The baby cinema days are excellent, they are very accommodating with the buggies and screaming infants. The tea room attached to the cinema does a very nice afternoon tea with a good selection of teas.

Wonderful cinema with friendly and professional staff. There is disabled access, with dedicated wheelchair bays in Screens 1 & 2. This cinema clearly strives to meet the requirements of all customers, even providing specific "Babies" screenings of family-friendly films. The prices are incredibly cheap. The aesthetics are beautiful - maintaining much history from the 1910's. Travelling to the cinema is easy too - just a short walk from the Train, regular buses just outside and ample parking down many of its side-roads. Cannot rate this Cinema highly enough.
